Colour guru, Kiran Prayagi said, "It was great conducting the colour session at the SIES college in Navi Mumbai on behalf of BMPA-PrintWeek India on 7 October.
This Year the IEEE DAY was celebrated on 4th October 2016. Many of the colleges from all over the India were connected through Google Hangouts video conference and celebrated IEEE day all together. In our college we celebrated the IEEE day in the presence of the Head of the Department of EXTC Dr. Atul Kemkar and our IEEE Co-ordinator Prof. Preetee Khuperkar and Prof. Pushkar Sathe. The IEEE student council of our college was also present. We had a poster of IEEE SIESGST projected with the help of a projector in the background and we had cut the cake as a mark of celebration of IEEE Day 2016.
Blood donation camp was conducted on 30 September 2016,In association with Sion hospital. 250 units of blood collected.Certificates, refreshments and donor cards were provided to all donors.
Inquisitive is a National level quiz competition. It is conducted every year by IEEE under Techopedia. This year this was the flagship event of Techopedia conducted on 24th of September 2016. This event this year was a blend of technology and and all types of general questionnaires. The participants had to brainstorm for three different rounds of quiz. Each round was different including pen and paper round and audio-visual round. The top three winners were given certificates and a prize.
Circuit Maniacs was one of the new events added this year in Techopedia. This event was exclusively for 1st and the 2nd year students conducted on 24th of September 2016. This also included several rounds with a twist. This event was not only based on circuit designing but also had some fun filled rounds. The top three winners were given certificates and prize.
Nss week was celebrated from 24 – 30 September 2016. By performing street plays social issues were highlighted.Street Play performed by volunteers covered current affairs topics like save electricity,road safety etc.
Squabble is a debate competition held every year under Techopedia. the event was conducted on 23rd and 24th of September 2016. This event had three compelling rounds covering all types of topics ranging from current affairs to technical stuff. The participants debated very skilfully. There was a positive response from the judges too especially from the external judge Mr. Sudhir Khullar. The top two winners were given certificates and prize.
Certification courses on Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing by Mr.S.Viswanathan,3vConsultants,Mumbai
Approximately 41 tests including blood sugar, bone disease, liver function, kidney function etc .were conducted during the camp using Quantum Magnetic Health Analyzer. Dr. sarang had guided the faculty members by observing the reports generated by the analyzer. Around 60 faculty members had participated in the camp. All participants had appreciated and gained useful insights about the health from the camp.
NSS Unit of SIES GST celebrates International Day of Yoga 21 Jun 2016 Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. It transforms both body and mind. On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. Yoga camp was organized on June 20 and 21, 2016 in the campus of SIES GST. NSS unit of SIES GST celebrated the second International Yoga Day on June 21, 2016. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all the members of the SIES GST including students, faculty and staff. The participants were taught various aasanaas and pranayam. The instructor explained the benefits of these for one’s physical and mental health and well-being. The trainer encouraged the participants to practice yoga every day. The participants practiced all the exercises with full determination and zeal.

2. International Woman’s Day was celebrated on 8th March 2016 by faculties and students. Woman's day celebration had started by making beautiful rangoli in front of the GST office by the faculty. Student of the college had actively participated by making greetings for female faculties of GST .They also distributed it to them along with gifts. Poster paintings made by students were displayed in the college campus
Slated for 27 February 2016, the Job Fair is the brainchild of SIES’ head of the department, Sagar Shejwalkar. Shejwalkar said, “The initiative is designed for the benefit of students as well as the recruiting companies. The idea is to make a wider and diverse set of talent accessible to the recruiters at one place.” The Job Fair is open to participation for all the printing and packaging engineers set to graduate in 2016, irrespective of their institute. According to Shejwalkar, this first-of-its-kind Job Fair will have participation from at least 50 companies from printing and packaging sector. The participation fee of Rs 3000 is applicable for all the recruiting companies while the students will be charged fee of Rs 50. The participant companies will also be able to organise promotional sessions and technical workshops for the students at the campus. “We will connect with all the major institutes in the country for their support. I urge all the printing and allied firms to register and take advantage of this opportunity and explore the potential of the fresh graduates,” concluded Shejwalkar.
