About Examination cell

The Examination Cellof SIES Graduate School of Technology plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, transparency, and smooth functioning of the examination system.

SIES Graduate School of Technology, established with a vision to impart quality technical education, commenced its undergraduate engineering programs in the year 2002. Since then, the college has grown significantly in academic excellence, and in the year 2024, it has been granted Autonomous Status by the University of Mumbai and statutory bodies, enabling it to design and implement its own curriculum and examination system.

SIESGST was granted Autonomous status from the Academic Year 2024-2025, encompassing seven undergraduate engineering branches—EXTC,COMP, IT, ECS, AIDS,AIML, andCSEIOTas well as two postgraduate engineering programs in Information Security (IS) and AIDS.

Since then, the college has implemented several academic and administrative reforms to enhance the quality of education and support student progression, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

As the institute operates under academic autonomy, the Examination Cell is responsible for independently planning, organizing, conducting, and managing end-semester examinations, while ensuring adherence to the academic calendar and guidelines prescribed by statutory bodies such as the UGC, AICTE, and University of Mumbai.

The core responsibilities of the Examination Cell include:

• Preparation and scheduling of examination timetables.
• Coordination of paper setting, moderation, and printing under strict confidentiality.
• Conducting End-Semester Examinations (ESEs).
• Managing the central valuation of answer scripts and declaration of results in a time-bound manner.
• Issuing Mark sheets / grade sheets, and transcripts.
• Coordinating with departments for exam-related logistics, invigilation, and result processing.
• Handling revaluation, re-examination, grievances, and student queries related to examination and evaluation.
• Coordination with the University for degree certification and convocation

The Examination Cell operates under the supervision of the Controller of Examinations (CoE) and is supported by Assistant Examcell I/c, administrative staff, and departmental examination coordinators.The Examination cell promotes centralized examinations and evaluation for about 3000 students of SIESGST. It strives to uphold fairness, accuracy, and accountability in the assessment process, thereby contributing to the academic excellence and credibility of the institution.

With robust infrastructure and digitized operations, the Examination Cell strives to provide efficient services to students and faculty, contributing to the academic progress of the institution.

Objectives

• To improve the quality of examination and evaluation to ensure integrity of examination system for betterment of students.
• Formulate and monitor strategies and implementation of useful examination practices.
• Introduction of digital and online systems in examination, evaluation and services rendered by the examination cell.
• To train faculty members and non-teaching staff about the conduct and organization of examination and examination material.
• Strengthen Student facilitation for prompt response and delivery of student queries and services.
